An umbrella brand, aiming to create and introduce fashion designers on annual basis. The brand aspired to lead by example how to create a brand.

An ambitious project of the ministry of commerce, the FDC had a challenge from the start: How to create and maintain a brand with very little resources.

Introducing eight to ten designers annually, the FDC was also tasked with create sub-brands. Showing off each year's output in an annual show, complete with runways and points of sale. The brand had to be minimal and distinct.

01

THE CHALLENGE

The project was massive in scale. So it had to be broken down with well-defined components to act in tandem with each other. The FDC brand had to be minimal, to give way to individual brands to shine.

02

THE RESPONSE

FDC was scaled down to one element, unique enough to blend into other brands. This meant that in application the was no brand guide. One item (the logo) was designed. to be placed and used in tandem with other brands. This bold approach resulted in a daring use coupled with one elegant mark.

  • 01LOGOdesign

To design a (no-brand).

Just a logo that is able to blend in with other brands, used to identify and endorse sub-brands. and boldly presented on parent collaterals. The logo is either black or white, centered or in a lockup, is able to identify the center's role without using much resources or diving into complicated applications.

"With little to no resources, the design is able to consider and adapt to our abilities, inspiring us to move forward confidently.
